Privacy Policy

ActMate is committed to keeping your data safe and being transparent about how we use it. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
📋 What we collect
When you sign up for ActMate we collect:
- Account details — your name, email address, and password (stored as a one-way hash).
- Profile information — username, bio, location city, date of birth, gender, availability, and sports preferences — all optional and provided by you.
- Game activity — games you create, join, or pay for, so you can view your history.
- Device push token — if you opt in to notifications on iOS, so we can deliver game alerts to your device.
If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google in accordance with their OAuth flow. We do not access your Google contacts or any other Google data.
📍 Location usage
ActMate uses your approximate location to surface nearby games and suggest relevant venues. Location is only accessed on your device when you choose to explore games — it is never stored on our servers without your explicit input. When you create a game, the venue address you enter is visible to other users who view that game. We do not share precise GPS coordinates with anyone.
👤 User accounts
Your account data is stored securely in our database (Supabase / PostgreSQL), hosted in a region with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing support@actmate.app. Deletion is completed within 30 days.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties, ever.
🔗 Third-party services
ActMate uses the following third-party services:
- Google OAuth — optional sign-in via your Google account.
- Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) — to send game alerts to iOS devices.
- Vercel — for hosting and serverless compute.
- Supabase — for database hosting.
Each provider has its own privacy policy and data handling practices.
